
OLIVER POTEŽICA
Born
1953 in Yugoslavia.
Graduated
at School of Law
of Belgrade University 1976.
Career
diplomat since 1978. Expert for Middle East
and Islamic world. Besides, he has dealt
with influence of religion on foreign policy and international affairs,
particularly with influence of Islam.
Posted to
Yugoslav Embassy in Tehran
as First Secretary (1985–1990). Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of
Yugoslavia to the Hashemite
Kingdom of Jordan (1996–2001) and in accredited for Palestine as well.
Foreign
languages: English, French and Farsi (Iranian).
Author
of several book and large number of studies and scientific articles (about 120)
on international relation, subjects related to foreign policy, history and
history of diplomacy. Co–author
of three books. More than twenty studies and articles were translated in
several foreign languages. Translated some few books in English to Serbian
language, as well as one book from Farsi to Serbian language. Published more
than 200 translations of foreign articles, studies and booklets, mainly from
English and French. Published more than 1.000 articles in Yugoslav / Serbian
and foreign newspapers and magazines primarily on subjects related to foreign
affairs.
Participated
in many international conferences and forums. Lectured on several institutes
and faculties. Co–operated
with a few foreign academic institutions, particularly on subjects related to Middle East and Islam. Received a few foreign and
internal professional and scientific rewards and praises.

the editorial boards of several theoretical journals and other publications (“The
Review for International Affairs”, “The Journal of Military Theory”, “Third
program” etc). Editor of prestigious edition “Diplomatic books” of renowned
Publishing House “Filip Visnjic” from Belgrade.
